Maintenance (Service) Director Gross

Main focus:

  • to bring and implement the best worldwibe maintenance and servise practices into mining industry
  • to launch the best service practices on Gross mine


  • Develop detailed start-up action plan to cover all areas of systems, structure, fleet setup/induction, facilities for the Gross mining project
  • Develop and implement workflow process & procedures
  • Manage equipment delivery and commissioning
  • Assess current site resources, recruit maintenance team
  • Manage ancillary fleet specification, selection, purchase, induction and delivery
  • Assist construction team with maintenance facility internal layout, design & fitout including air, lubes, service centres, parts cleaning, electrical, tooling, storage, demarcation.

Requirements for Candidate:

  • Basic education: Engineering or industrial university qualifications essential, Maintenance, business or frontline management qualifications desirable
  • 10 -15 years experience in maintenance management environment - Mining, Oil&Gas, Aviation, Power generation etc.
  • International experience highly desirable
  • 5 years in senior roles
  • Leadership of maintenance teams both operational and technical
  • ERP/CMMS development and implementation
  • Management system development and implementation
  • Asset strategy analysis and development (life cycle costing)
  • Project start-up planning & implementation
  • Organisational design & recruitment

Requirements for Candidate's knowledge

  • Maintenance management process & systems development, implementation & application
  • ERP/CMMS configuration, structure, reporting
  • Equipment strategy & life cycle optimisation
  • Team-member skills & capability development strategies including succession planning
  • Cost structures, budget development, cost management & reporting
  • Best practice asset and maintenance management, how to progress a business to best practice.
  • English language will be additional plus
